The Curated Kitchen Design
If you’re stuck on deciding how to remodel your kitchen space, here’s a beautiful design inspiration just for you!
Every homeowner wants to make their home feel beautiful. When you invite guests over, or you’re hosting a special occasion at your home, you want your guests to be able to notice how beautiful your home is. You want to show off your home’s decor and the unique features your home has to offer. However, finding the right combination of creating a well-balanced design and having your space look over-cluttered with home decor accessories can be a tricky process. You want your home to look lived in and welcoming, but you also don’t want to over clutter your shelves and tables with too many home accessories.
This is especially true in the kitchen. You want to display your kitchen accessories such as cooking utensils, decorative vases, and other home decor pieces. As you set your kitchen decor out on the counter, it can start to look a little cluttered. A new design trend that is helping to reduce this design dilemma is the curated kitchen.
In a curated kitchen, homeowners are taking the same material used for their countertop and installing a separate slab on the wall with a small ledge at the top of the slab. The slab sits on top of your kitchen countertop and is about eighteen inches high. Then the shelf extends out about four to six inches. This design is usually installed behind the sink or above the stove next to the vent hood.
Another option is to add wood shelves next to your vent hood. You can have one to two shelves on either side of your vent hood to give your kitchen a similar look to the extended countertop ledge. You can also combine the two designs of the shelves and countertop ledge designs by adding a second wood shelf installed above the countertop ledge.
Creating this beautifully designed curated kitchen allows you to have a specially crafted space to display your kitchen decor. The small ledge and shelves are perfect for displaying styled artwork, cookbooks, decorative vases or ceramics, charcuterie boards, and other kitchen accessories. Another option is to display your spices and cooking oils. You can add accent lighting above the shelves to truly put your decor on display. It’s an easy and beautiful way to make your kitchen look lived and add your personality to your kitchen space without cluttering your countertops.
This new design trend is the perfect way to impress your guests when they visit your home. If you want to see this trend in your kitchen, call our team at 210-680-5626. Our team can create this beautiful design experience so you can experience a quality kitchen design.
