Our Top 5 Laundry Room Must-Haves

Laundry: the one chore that never seems to end.

Just when you feel like you’ve finished all your laundry, you blink and suddenly the laundry basket is full again. If there was a life hack that would help finish the laundry, we would share it with everyone! But while we don’t have a secret life hack, we do have some design tips that can make laundry a little more tolerable.

Folding Space: If you’re like the rest of us who struggle to fold and put away laundry the same day, this one's for you. In your laundry room design, you can include a small island or extra countertop space for a clean folding surface. The key to a functional folding space is to raise your cabinet height for a more comfortable folding position. So you can say goodbye to back aches from being hunched over while folding clothes.

Drying Racks: For the clothes that are too gentle to dry, we usually hang them to dry. However, then we run into the issue of having creases in our clothes from the hangers. So in your laundry room design, you want to include drying racks that will give you the space you need to air dry multiple clothes without causing any creases or wrinkles.

Hanging Racks: Whether you need to steam out stubborn wrinkles or if you like to steam your sheets and comforters, a hanging rack is a must! A hanging rack will make steaming so much easier as you won’t have to be hunched over or have steam clothes over your closet doors. It also helps to have custom hanging racks to keep your laundry room organized if you have multiple items to hang.

Storage: You can never have “too much” storage space. In your laundry room, the more storage you have, the better! From extra cleaning supplies to additional linen space and everything in between, having an organized laundry room makes doing laundry feel less of a hassle.

Large Sink: It’s common to include a utility sink on your laundry room to fight stubborn stains. However, sometimes you need more room for pre-washing and treating stained clothes. A large farmhouse sink is the ideal solution for all your laundry room needs.
