Dozens of our clients can identify with one of the reasons listed above as well as some other ideas. Whatever the reason may be, these clients see the potential that outdoor deck can have.

There are multiple of options for decking, but today we are going to list three levels of decking materials you could choose from.

  • Pressure treated decking: This is the most basic type of decking. Since it is pre-treated, it won’t rot away and is very strong because it’s made out of yellow pine. You can stain treated lumber after it cures. This decking may split or crack over time.

  • Cedar/Redwood decking: Cedar/Redwood lumber is a step up from treated lumber. It can be stained, but it will need routine maintenance to keep up the aesthetic look of the deck. A positive to this decking is that it will not split or crack, unlike treated lumber.

  • Zuri Decking: Now this is the cream of the crop of the decking lumber options. It is impervious to water (meaning you don’t have to freak out when your dog pees), is equivalent to real wood, and requires no maintenance! It is better insulated than wood, making it more relaxed, regardless of the color. It is a more significant investment since it is roughly double the price in materials, but the same price for labor.
