Tune in to 1200 WOAI Saturday at 2 p.m. for our weekly home remodeling radio show with general manager, Keith Moehle! This week's topic will be all about "aging in place."
The AARP recently released its "Livability for All: The 2016 AARP Age-Friendly Community Survey." In that study of 11 metros across the country (of which San Antonio was one), they identify eight areas that influence quality of life for those in any given community. Among that list, housing is a major issue.
In that study, more than 80% of survey respondents indicated it was important to be able to stay in their own homes as they age. Given that information, it's important to understand how needs evolve as we age and what modifications must be made to ensure we can continue to stay in our homes as long as we wish.
Keith's certification as a Universal Design Certified Professional (UDCP) from the National Association of the Remodeling Industry (NARI) makes him particularly knowledgable on this topic, and he looks forward to answering your questions during the live call-in talk show.
And, as always, if you ever miss one of Keith's shows and want to catch up later, we always post them here on our website for you!
